AC/DC is an Australian rock band formed in Sydney in 1973, by brothers Angus and Malcolm Young. Their music has been described as hard rock, blues rock and heavy metal, but the band calls it simply "rock and roll".
The band underwent several line-up changes before releasing their debut album, High Voltage in 1975. But membership stabilized after the release of Let There Be Rock in 1977, with the Young brothers, Phil Rudd on drums, Cliff Williams on bass guitar and Bon Scott on lead vocals.
Scott died of alcohol poisoning seven months after the release of Highway to Hell in 1979, and English singer Brian Johnson was recruited as their new frontman. Their first album with Johnson Back in Black released in 1980, was dedicated to Scott's memory and became the second best-selling album of all time.
Malcolm Young retired in 2014 due to early-onset dementia, from which he died three years later.
AC/DC is one of the most influential rock bands in history. Their albums have sold well over 200 million copies worldwide, with the 1980 album Back In Black selling over 21 million in the US alone.
The Pretty Reckless is an American rock band from New York City, formed in 2009. They released their debut studio album Light Me Up in 2010, which had three moderately successful singles, most notably "Make Me Wanna Die".
In March 2014, the band released their second studio album Going to Hell, which included the singles "Heaven Knows" and "Messed Up World", both of which topped the US and UK rock charts. They released their third studio album, Who You Selling For in 2016, and their fourth studio album, Death by Rock and Roll, was released in 2021.
The Pretty Reckless became the first female-fronted band to have seven number-one singles, when "Death by Rock and Roll" hit number one on the Mainstream Rock chart.
